Woodland and Timber Management
Timber
Storage areas have been provided at Trerieve
for local timber, for Oakman Chris (see
www.oakmanchris.com ).
Oak, ash, sycamore, beech,
chestnut, macracarpa are all available from
local sources, for use as lintels beams, etc
A supply of Virola, a type of mahogany, has
also been sourced from a local timber yard,
which is no longer stocking this type of
timber.
This is being processed at
the moment, and is available in 1 inch
boards from 3-12 inch width, plained both
sides, with over 75 sq yards in stock at
present. It is suitable for furniture and
cabinet making, or internal doors.
Chris also offers skilled
carpentry, on site fabrication and
installation services, and can cut, process,
or kiln dry, any purchased timber as
required.
Woodland
It is hoped to plant up to 1 ha (2½ acre) of
mixed oak, ash and broadleaf woodland on the
steep land at the bottom of West Field, if a
grant can be obtained from
The Forestry Commission. |
