June
13th MAD 09 (+1)
Trerieve Farm, Downderry is the venue for
the first event organised by Music Around
Deviock (yes that it MAD !!!) on June 13th,
the 10th anniversary of the event formerly
known as Jazz in the Park.
Headlining are crowd pulling favourites Mad
Dog McCrea, who played at the venue last
year at the last event to be organised by
JITP.
To get the
party going are Kiss This! - A barnstorming
band with an amazing female vocalist
performing 80's party anthems by Bananarama,
Queen, Police, Hazel O’Connor, Toyah, Kim
Wilde, Blondie, Eurythmics, Dexy's Midnight
Runners and many more.
The event
kicks off at 6.00pm with local musicians,
playing a variety of music, some performing
live for the first time.
The change of name comes because, as MAD
chair Jim Candy, says “It’s not all Jazz and
it’s not in the Park. We want to put on some
stomping acts and to nurture local music
talent. We probably all are a bit mad to
keep staging community events, but the buzz
of seeing everyone having a good time on the
night keeps us going.”
