WILDLIFE POND
Trerieve has a hilltop pond fed from
underground water which feeds into a
stream. Frogs spawn in the
flowering
rushes and
Dr agonfiles and Water
Boatmen skim over the surface of the
water, attracting
Swallows in
summer.
Willows have colonised the hedges
and Ragged Robin flowers throughout
the spring and summer.
You may spot a Vole, Newts, Frogs or
visiting Water Fowl from the
waterside vantage point.
Cattle
or sheep are used to graze around
the pond, in order to control the
vegetation and create a diverse
habitat. |
